Innovative Horsemanship with Anne Altvater and Caroline Lundgren offers a transformative experience that helps you become a better rider by developing more effective relationships with the horses you ride.
The powerful combination of Caroline’s ability to bring a horse to the human and Anne’s skill with bringing a human to a horse sets up the possibility for both you and the horse to experience a stronger bond and a sense of team accomplishment.
Because you work with the horse in “liberty” you are the only tool that you bring into the ring. Your movements, touch, and emotional reactions send signals to the horse. You and the horse are challenged to respond to constantly changing variables that affect how you communicate and respond to one another.
Through the process of Innovative Horsemanship you gain self-awareness that has the power to transform your relationship with the horse and within yourself.
Anne Altvater and Caroline Lundgren
In a typical session of Innovative Horsemanship Caroline sets ups a skills practice situation, first opening lines of communication with the horse and then introducing you into the practice.
Anne observes what happens when you get stuck or experience frustration while performing a task. She then moves in to ask questions that invite you to step back and look at the situation from a new perspective.
Innovative Horsemanship is offered for individuals and for groups. This training is most effective in a setting that is more private than traditional horsemanship clinics.
Sessions are offered at Campbell’s Lane Farm in Preston, Maryland, and at Provo Ponies in Turks and Caicos. Anne and Caroline also travel to other horse farms and retreat centers to bring this unique process to horse people around the world.
Caroline grew up in Sweden and is a certified Natural Horsemanship Instructor. She now lives in Turks & Caicos Islands where she co- manages Provo Ponies.
As a young girl Caroline dreamed of owning a horse. She began riding in high school and, when she had enough money and time, she made horses the center of her life and her life’s work.
She discovered natural horsemanship, a process that taught her how to communicate with a horse using the horse’s language. Her students begin to develop trust with a horse through touch. Lessons progress from natural horsemanship theory and ground work to riding.
